SafeUS was born as a geolocation application aimed at personal security. The idea was to allow the user to see, on the map, where their relatives are. The app should also warn when children, for example, leave the area considered safe. In the last 10 years, in Brazil, an average of 8 disappearances per hour have been recorded. 693 thousand people are gone.
The biggest challenge of Garimpo UX was to create a layout that facilitated the use of the application in moments of extreme tension. The risk of lightning-hijacking, for example. And bearing in mind, always, that a large part of the public would be formed by older people, from 35 to 55 years old, approximately (parents with small children, or adult children with elderly parents). They had to clearly understand the function of each button and be able to use it in a fraction of a second, if necessary.
The team of designers at Garimpo UX has turned complexity into simplicity. Two buttons have been created that, with a single touch, send alerts to friends and family who also use the application. To warn you that everything is fine, just squeeze a positive sign. And to warn that there is an emergency and danger, just touch a panic button.
